Ann Potter started obedience training a dachshund in 1971. Training and showing dachshunds led to an expanding interest in other hounds, including training and showing whippets and basenjis. The hounds led to an interest in the sporting group, starting with conformation, then back to obedience. A retired obedience dog inspired a beginning in agility, and from there to rally. The dachshunds were a natural for field trials and go to ground trials, and the whippets were in at the beginning of lure coursing. In the sporting group, English cockers led to hunt tests and working tests sponsored by the American Spaniel Club. There have also been a few herding dogs in obedience, agility, rally and herding. Since 1971 Ann's dogs have earned more than 50 titles including conformation and field championships, working test titles, 3 UDs, master agility titles, and more recently titles in rally.
